Manifold Pressure/Vacuum Sensor: Service and Repair



Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the intake manifold cover.
2. Disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (1) from the manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor.




3. Remove the spark plug wire clip from the MAP sensor bracket, if necessary.




4. Remove the upper intake manifold bolt.
5. Remove the MAP sensor bracket (5).
6. Remove the MAP sensor (6) and seal from the upper intake manifold. Discard the seal.

Installation Procedure




1. Lubricate the NEW MAP sensor seal with clean engine oil.
2. Install the MAP sensor (6) into the upper intake manifold.
3. Place the MAP sensor bracket (5) into position.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.

4. Install the upper intake manifold bolt.

Tighten the bolt to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).




5. Install the spark plug wire clip to the MAP sensor bracket, if necessary.




6. Connect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (1) to the MAP sensor.
7. Install the intake manifold cover.
