Body - Front Door Glass Inop/Jerky/Uneven Motion

Front Door Glass Does Not Move Up or Down and/or Inoperative or Jerky/Uneven Motion (Inspect Window Regulator and Tighten Cam Bolt Torque)

This bulletin is being revised to add the 2007 model year. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 06-08-64-020 (Section 08 - Body & Accessories).
Condition
Some customers may comment on either of the following conditions:
Condition 1: The front door glass does not move up or down and/or is inoperative.
Condition 2: The front door glass moves in an uneven or jerky motion.
Cause
Condition 1 may be caused by the window regulator sash channel being spread apart where it fastens to clips on the bottom of the door glass.
Condition 2 may be caused by a loose cam guide bolt.
Correction
Remove the door interior trim panel and inspect the window regulator and sash channel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Side Front Door in SI.
Remove the water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Front Door in SI.
Inspect the window regulator assembly.
If Condition 1 is the customer concern, and if this is due to any window regulator damage (sash channel spread apart or any piece bent), replace the window regulator assembly. Refer to Front Side Door Window Regulator Replacement (Power Regulator) or Front Side Door Window Regulator Replacement (Manual Regulator) in SI.
If Condition 2 is the customer concern, and the window regulator is not damaged in any way, adjust the sash channel and retorque the bolt (rear bolt in illustration) to 10 N.m (89 lb in) if necessary. (If any damage is found to the window regulator, replace the window regulator assembly. Refer to SI procedures given in previous step.)
If any repairs were necessary in Step 3, also inspect the window wiring harness for any damage. Repair if necessary.
Reinstall the water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Front Door in SI.
Reinstall the door interior trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Side Front Door in SI.
Verify that window moves smoothly and freely.
