Valve Cover: Service and Repair



Camshaft Cover Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the intake manifold cover.
2. Reposition the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose clamp.
3. Remove the PCV hose from the cover.




4. Disconnect the intake (3) and exhaust (2) camshaft position actuator solenoid valve electrical connectors.




5. Remove the ignition coils.
6. Remove the engine harness clips (1) from the cover.




7. Remove the fuel feed line retainers ( 1, 2) from the engine brackets.




8. Remove the camshaft cover bolts.
9. Remove the camshaft cover.

Installation Procedure





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.

1. Install the camshaft cover and bolts.

Tighten the bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).




2. Install the ignition coils.
3. Install the engine harness clips (1 ) to the cover.




4. Install the fuel feed line retainers ( 1, 2) to the engine brackets.




5. Connect the intake (2) and exhaust (2) camshaft position actuator solenoid valve electrical connectors.




6. Install the PCV hose to the cover.
7. Position the PCV hose clamp.
8. Install the intake manifold cover.
