Fuel Level Sensor Replacement

Removal Procedure

Caution: Refer to Gasoline/Gasoline Vapors Caution.




1. Remove the fuel pump module.
2. Open the fuel pressure regulator retainers (1).
3. Slide the fuel pressure regulator out slightly from the module.




4. Using a small pick, disengage the fuel level sensor electrical connector retainer (1).
5. Disconnect the fuel level sensor electrical connector from the module cover.
6. Remove the fuel pressure regulator wire connector (2) from the fuel pressure regulator.
7. Remove the fuel pressure regulator.




8. Push in the fuel level sensor retaining tabs (1) in order to disengage the sensor tabs from the module bucket.




9. Slide the fuel level sensor up and out from the module bucket.

Installation Procedure




1. Slide the fuel level sensor in and down into the module bucket.




2. Ensure that the fuel level sensor retaining tabs (1) are fully engaged to the module bucket.




3. Install the fuel pressure regulator part way.
4. Install the fuel pressure regulator wire connector (2) to the fuel pressure regulator.
5. Connect the fuel level sensor electrical connector to the module cover.
6. Ensure that the fuel level sensor electrical connector retainer (1) is fully engaged.




7. Slide the fuel pressure regulator completely into the module.
8. Ensure that the fuel pressure regulator retainers (1) fully engage the module.
9. Install the fuel pump module.
