Battery Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Disconnect the negative battery cable (2).
2. Loosen the positive battery cable (1) bolt.
3. Remove the positive battery cable from the battery.




4. Remove the battery vent tube from the battery and grommet.




5. Remove the battery retainer bolt.
6. Remove the battery strap and retainer.

Important: Do not tip the battery more than 40 degrees during removal.

7. Remove the battery.

Installation Procedure






Important: Do not tip the battery more than 40 degrees during battery installation.

1. Install the battery.
2. Install the battery strap and retainer.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.

3. Install the battery retainer bolt.

Tighten the bolt to 18 N.m (13 lb ft).




4. Install the battery vent tube to the battery and grommet.




5. Position the positive battery cable (1) to the battery.
6. Tighten the positive battery cable bolt.

Tighten the bolt to 17 N.m (13 lb ft).

7. Connect the negative battery cable.
