Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement (Redline)

Removal Procedure

1. Disable the SIR system.




2. Release the upper steering column cover retainers (1).
3. Disconnect the electrical connectors (2).
4. Remove the upper trim cover from the vehicle.




5. Remove the lower steering column cover screws.




6. Lower the steering column adjusting handle.
7. Unsnap and remove the left lower steering column cover.




8. Remove the right lower steering column cover.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the right lower steering column cover.




2. Install the left lower steering column cover and snap into the right cover.
3. Raise the steering column adjusting handle to lock the steering column into place.





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.

4. Install the lower steering column cover screws.

Tighten the lower steering column cover screws to 2.6 N.m (23 lb in).

5. Position the upper trim cover to the steering column.
6. Connect the electrical connectors (2).




7. Install the upper steering column cover by guiding the soft closeout under the instrument panel (I/P) trim panel and aligning the retainers (1) with the lower covers.
8. Press on the upper steering column cover until the retainers (1) are fully engaged.
9. Enable the SIR system.
