Front Side Door Window Outer Sealing Strip Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the upper trim finish panel from the front door.
2. Remove the rear mirror sound absorber.
3. Loosen the mirror nuts.




4. Remove the retaining screw at the rear of the outer belt seal.

Important: A putty knife with the blade covered with tape may be needed to gently pry the belt seal from the flange.

5. To remove the belt seal, carefully lift on the belt seal, beginning at the rear and working forward.

Installation Procedure




1. Slide the forward end of the outer belt seal beneath the mirror.
2. Align the rear of the belt seal with the attaching screw hole.
3. Beginning at the rear of the belt seal, push the belt seal down onto the flange until the belt seal is fully seated.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.

4. Install the outer belt seal retaining screw.

Tighten the outer belt seal fastener to 2 N.m (18 lb in).




5. Tighten the mirror nuts.

Tighten the outside rear view mirror nuts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

6. Install the rear view mirror sound absorber.
7. Install the upper trim finish panel to the front door.
