Liftgate Latch Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Open the liftgate.
2. Remove the liftgate water deflector.




3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the liftgate latch.
4. Remove the liftgate latch retaining bolts.
5. Using a small flat-bladed tool, remove the latch cable clip (2) from the liftgate latch.
6. Release the latch cable retainer and remove latch cable from liftgate latch.
7. Remove the liftgate latch from the liftgate.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the liftgate latch to the liftgate
2. Secure the lock cylinder cable (1) into the liftgate latch.
3. Install the latch cable to the liftgate latch and engage latch cable retainer (2).
4. Connect the electrical connector to the liftgate latch.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.

5. Install the liftgate latch retainer bolts.

Tighten the bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

6. Install the liftgate water deflector.
7. Close the liftgate.
