Battery Cable: Service and Repair



Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection

Removal Procedure

Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution.




1. Record all presets and theft codes from the radio.
2. Turn off all the lamps and accessories.
3. Turn the ignition OFF.
4. Loosen the negative battery cable (2) nut.
5. Remove the negative battery cable from the battery.

Installation Procedure






Important: Clean any existing corrosion from the battery terminal bolt flange and the battery cable end.

1. Install the negative battery cable to the battery.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.

2. Tighten the negative battery cable (2) nut.

Tighten the nut to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).

3. Reprogram the radio presets. Refer to Radio Setup. Programming and Relearning
4. Re-initialize the power sliding doors. Refer to Rear Side Door Actuator Control Module Programming and Setup. Programming and Relearning
