Liftgate Strut Ball Stud Replacement

Removal Procedure






Caution: When a lift gate hold open device is being removed or installed, provide alternate support to avoid the possibility of damage to the vehicle or personal injury.


1. Open the lift gate and support.
2. Remove the lift gate struts, one at a time. Refer to Liftgate Strut Replacement .
3. Remove the lift gate side strut anchor.




4. Remove the body side strut anchor.



Installation Procedure





1. Install the body side strut anchor.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice .

2. Tighten the lift gate to body strut anchor bolts.

Tighten the strut anchor bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).





3. Tighten the lift gate strut anchor.

Tighten the lift gate strut anchor to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

4. Install the lift gate struts. Refer to Liftgate Strut Replacement .
