Electronic Brake Control Module Replacement (MK70)

Removal Procedure






Important: It is essential to comply with the instruction for the hydraulic modulator and the electronic brake control module (EBCM). Refer to ABS Control Unit General Repair Specification (ABS Control Unit General Repair Specification) .


1. Remove the hydraulic modulator with the EBCM. Refer to Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Replacement (Service and Repair) .
2. Remove the EBCM from the modulator.

* Remove the 3 bolts (1).
* Remove the EBCM form the idyllic modulator without tilting it.
* Remove the EBCM from the hydraulic modulator.





3. Remove the 8 seal rings (1) carefully by hand.



Installation Procedure

1. Push the 8 new seal rings (1, 2) carefully on the valves.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice) .

2. Install the new EBCM to hydraulic modulator.

Tighten the hydraulic modulator bolts to 2 N.m (18 lb in).


* Push the EBCM onto the hydraulic modulator carefully without tilting it.
* Attach 3 new bolts.

3. Install the hydraulic modulator with EBCM. Refer to Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Replacement (Service and Repair) .
