Oil Pressure Sensor: Service and Repair



Engine Oil Pressure Sensor and/or Switch Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. If equipped with air conditioning, remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement (Service and Repair) .
2. If equipped with air conditioning, remove the compressor.

* Remove the 3 bolts (1).
* Set aside.

3. Place a drip pan underneath.




4. Remove the oil pressure switch/sensor.

* Disconnect the wiring harness connector.
* Push back the heat shield.
* Remove the oil pressure switch/sensor.




Installation Procedure


Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice) .

1. Install the oil pressure switch/sensor.

Tighten the oil pressure switch/sensor to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).


* Install the wiring harness plug.
* Install the heat shield.

2. Vehicles with air conditioning-Attach the compressor.

Tighten the 3 bolts to 22 N.m (16 lb ft).

3. If equipped with air conditioning, attach the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement (Service and Repair) .
4. Lower the vehicle by its full height.
5. Inspect the engine oil level and correct if necessary.
6. Close the hood.
