Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch (For Computer): Service and Repair



Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. Partially drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE-47716) (Service and Repair)Cooling System Draining and Filling (2.4L LE5 Only) (Service and Repair)Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill-LNF) (Service and Repair) .
2. Disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (6) from the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor.




3. Remove the ECT.



Installation Procedure






Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice) .

1. Install the ECT.

Tighten the sensor to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).





2. Connect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (6) to the ECT sensor.
3. Fill the cooling system as needed. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE-47716) (Service and Repair)Cooling System Draining and Filling (2.4L LE5 Only) (Service and Repair)Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill-LNF) (Service and Repair) .
