Camshaft Position Sensor Replacement - Exhaust

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement (Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement).
2. Remove the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement (Service and Repair).




3. Disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (1) from the exhaust camshaft position (CMP) sensor.




4. Remove the exhaust CMP sensor bolt. (Intake CMP shown, exhaust CMP similar).
5. Remove the exhaust CMP sensor.

Installation Procedure





Note: Inspect the exhaust CMP sensor for damage, replace as necessary.

1. Lubricate the exhaust CMP sensor O-ring seal with clean engine oil.
2. Install the exhaust CMP sensor. (Intake CMP shown, exhaust CMP similar).

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

3. Install the exhaust CMP sensor bolt.

Tighten the bolt to 10 Nm (89 lb in).




4. Connect engine wiring harness electrical connector (1) to the exhaust CMP sensor.
5. Install the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement (Service and Repair).
6. Install the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement (Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement).
