Brake Fluid Level Sensor/Switch: Service and Repair




Brake Fluid Level Indicator Switch Replacement (With RPO HP5)

Removal Procedure
Warning: Refer to Brake Fluid Irritant Warning (Brake Fluid Irritant Warning).

Caution: Refer to Brake Fluid Effects on Paint and Electrical Components Caution (Vehicle Damage Warnings).




1. Without draining the coolant or disconnecting the hoses, remove and position aside the radiator surge tank. Refer to Radiator Surge Tank Replacement (Service and Repair).
2. Disconnect the brake fluid level indicator switch electrical connector.
3. Compress the brake fluid level indicator switch locking tabs on the inboard side of the brake master cylinder reservoir.
4. Remove the brake fluid level indicator switch (1).

Installation Procedure




1. Install the brake fluid level indicator switch (1) to the brake master cylinder reservoir.
Ensure the locking tabs on the brake fluid level indicator switch are fully engaged to the master cylinder reservoir.
2. Connect the brake fluid level indicator switch electrical connector.
3. Install the radiator surge tank. Refer to Radiator Surge Tank Replacement (Service and Repair).
