Battery Current Sensor Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (HP5) (Service and Repair).




2. Disconnect the current sensor harness connector (1) from the sensor (2).




3. Remove the positive battery cable fuse fastener (3) and cable (2) from the fuse.
4. Remove any tape or retainers from the current sensor and cable. Note the location of the current sensor for assembly.
5. Slide the current sensor (1) off the cable (2).

Installation Procedure




1. Slide the current sensor (1) into position on the cable (2).
2. Install tape or retainers to the current sensor and cable as noted during removal.





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

3. Install the positive battery cable fuse fastener (3) and cable (2) to the fuse and tighten to 5 Nm (45 lb in).




4. Connect the current sensor harness connector (1) to the sensor (2).
5. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (HP5) (Service and Repair).
