2ZR-FE IGNITION: IGNITION COIL AND SPARK PLUG: REMOVAL

REMOVAL

1. REMOVE NO. 2 CYLINDER HEAD COVER






(a) First, lift up the rear of the No. 2 cylinder head cover to disengage the 2 fittings shown in the illustration.






(b) Next, lift the front of the No. 2 cylinder head cover to disengage the 2 fittings shown in the illustration. Then remove the No. 2 cylinder head cover.
NOTE:
- Ensure that the rubber grommets remain attached to the No. 2 cylinder head cover.
- If any grommets are attached to the bolts, move them to the No. 2 cylinder head cover.

2. REMOVE IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY






(a) Disconnect the camshaft timing oil control valve connector.






(b) Disconnect the 4 ignition coil connectors.
(c) Remove the 4 bolts and 4 ignition coils.
3. REMOVE SPARK PLUG
(a) Remove the 4 spark plugs.
