Installation





1NR-FE ENGINE CONTROL: CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR: INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR

(a) for Exhaust Side:

(1) Apply a light coat of engine oil to the O-ring.





NOTICE:
If reusing the camshaft position sensor, be sure to inspect the O-ring.

(2) Install the camshaft position sensor onto the cylinder head cover sub-assembly with the bolt.

Torque : 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf)

NOTICE:
* If a component has been dropped or subjected to a strong impact, replace it.
* Make sure that the O-ring is not damaged or does not jump out of position during installation.

(3) Connect the connector of the camshaft position sensor.

(b) for Intake Side:

(1) Apply a light coat of engine oil to the O-ring.





NOTICE:
If reusing the camshaft position sensor, be sure to inspect the O-ring.

(2) Install the camshaft position sensor onto the cylinder head cover sub-assembly with the bolt.

Torque : 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf)

NOTICE:
* If a component has been dropped or subjected to a strong impact, replace it.
* Make sure that the O-ring is not damaged or does not jump out of position during installation.

(3) Connect the connector of the camshaft position sensor.

2. INSPECT FOR ENGINE OIL LEAK

(a) Start the engine and check that there are no oil leaks.
