Removal

STEERING COLUMN: STEERING PAD SWITCH: REMOVAL

CAUTION:
Some of these service operations affect the SRS. Read the precautionary notices concerning the SRS before servicing Service Precautions.

1. PLACE FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD

2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.

3. REMOVE LOWER NO. 3 STEERING WHEEL COVER Removal

4. REMOVE LOWER NO. 2 STEERING WHEEL COVER Removal

5. REMOVE LOWER NO. 2 STEERING WHEEL COVER (W/ Cruise Control System) Removal

6. REMOVE STEERING PAD Removal

7. REMOVE STEERING PAD SWITCH LH

(a) Disconnect the connector from the spiral cable.

(b) W/ Shift Paddle Switch:

Disconnect the connector from the No. 1 switch wire (shift paddle switch).

(c) Remove the 2 screws.





(d) Detach the claw and guide and remove the steering pad switch.
