U341E AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE: INPUT SHAFT: INSPECTION
1. INSPECT FRONT CLUTCH DISC
(a) Check whether the sliding surface of the discs, plates and flanges are worn or burnt.
If necessary, replace them.
NOTICE:
* If the lining of any disc is peeling off or discolored, or even if a part of the printed number is defaced, replace all the discs.
* Before assembling new discs, soak them in Toyota Genuine ATF WS or equivalent for at least 15 minutes.
2. INSPECT FORWARD CLUTCH RETURN SPRING SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Using vernier calipers, measure the free length of the spring together with the spring seat.
Standard free length:
21.69 mm (0.8540 in.)
