25. CHECK SIDE NO. 2 AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY RH

(a) Connect the connector to the airbag ECU assembly.









(b) Interchange the side No. 2 airbag sensor assembly RH with LH and connect the connectors.

(c) Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.

(d) Clear the DTCs stored in memory Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

(e) Turn the ignition switch off.

(f) Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait for at least 60 seconds.

(g) Check for DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

Result:





HINT
Codes other than DTCs B1623 and B1628 may be output at this time, but they are not related to this check.

(h) Turn the ignition switch off.

(i) Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

(j) Return the side No. 2 airbag sensor assembly RH and LH to their original positions and connect the connectors.

B -- REPLACE SIDE NO. 2 AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY RH Removal

C -- USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK

A -- REPLACE AIRBAG ECU ASSEMBLY Removal

26. CHECK CONNECTORS

(a) Turn the ignition switch off.

(b) Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

(c) Check that the connectors are properly connected to the side No. 2 airbag sensor assembly RH and rear airbag sensor RH.

OK:

The connectors are properly connected.

HINT
If the connectors are not connected securely, reconnect the connectors and proceed to the next inspection.

(d) Disconnect the connectors from the side No. 2 airbag sensor assembly RH and rear airbag sensor RH.

(e) Check that the terminals of the connectors are not damaged.

OK:

The terminals are not deformed or damaged.

NG -- REPLACE WIRE HARNESS
OK -- Continue to next step.

27. CHECK NO. 2 FLOOR WIRE (OPEN)

(a) Using a service wire, connect terminals 4 (BUSIN) and 3 (RTNIN) of connector C.









NOTICE:
Do not forcibly insert the service wire into the terminals of the connector when connecting the wire.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





(c) Disconnect the service wire from connector C.

NG -- REPLACE NO. 2 FLOOR WIRE
OK -- Continue to next step.

28. CHECK NO. 2 FLOOR WIRE (SHORT)









(a) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPLACE NO. 2 FLOOR WIRE
OK -- Continue to next step.

29. CHECK NO. 2 FLOOR WIRE (SHORT TO B+)

(a) Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.









(b) Turn the ignition switch to ON.

(c) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage:





(d) Turn the ignition switch off.

(e) Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

NG -- REPLACE NO. 2 FLOOR WIRE
OK -- Continue to next step.

30. CHECK NO. 2 FLOOR WIRE (SHORT TO GROUND)

(a) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.









Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPLACE NO. 2 FLOOR WIRE
OK -- Continue to next step.

31. CHECK SIDE NO. 2 AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY RH

(a) Connect the connector to the rear airbag sensor RH.









(b) Interchange the side No. 2 airbag sensor assembly RH with LH and connect the connectors.

(c) Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.

(d) Clear the DTCs stored in memory Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

(e) Turn the ignition switch off.

(f) Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait for at least 60 seconds.

(g) Check for DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

Result:





HINT
Codes other than DTCs B1633 and B1638 may be output at this time, but they are not related to this check.

(h) Turn the ignition switch off.

(i) Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

(j) Return the side No. 2 airbag sensor assembly RH and LH to their original positions and connect the connectors.

B -- REPLACE SIDE NO. 2 AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY RH Removal

C -- USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK
A -- Continue to next step.

32. CHECK REAR AIRBAG SENSOR RH

(a) Interchange the rear airbag sensor RH with LH and connect the connectors.









(b) Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.

(c) Clear the DTCs stored in memory Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

(d) Turn the ignition switch off.

(e) Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait for at least 60 seconds.

(f) Check for DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

Result:

Codes other than DTCs B1633 and B1638 may be output at this time, but they are not related to this check.

(g) Turn the ignition switch off.

(h) Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

(i) Return the rear airbag sensor RH and LH to their original positions and connect the connectors.

B -- REPLACE REAR AIRBAG SENSOR RH Removal

C -- USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK

A -- REPLACE AIRBAG ECU ASSEMBLY Removal

33. CHECK CONNECTORS

(a) Turn the ignition switch off.

(b) Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

(c) Check that the connectors are properly connected to the rear airbag sensor RH and side airbag sensor assembly RH. Also check that the connectors that link the No. 2 floor wire and front door wire RH are properly connected.

OK:

The connectors are properly connected.

HINT
If the connectors are not connected securely, reconnect the connectors and proceed to the next inspection.

(d) Disconnect the connectors from the rear airbag sensor RH and side airbag sensor assembly RH. Also disconnect the connectors that link the No. 2 floor wire and front door wire RH.

(e) Check that the terminals of the connectors are not damaged.

OK:

The terminals are not deformed or damaged.

NG -- REPLACE WIRE HARNESS
OK -- Continue to next step.

34. CHECK SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY RH CIRCUIT (OPEN)

(a) Connect the connectors that link the No. 2 floor wire and front door wire RH.









(b) Using a service wire, connect terminals 2 (BUSIN) and 1 (RTNIN) of connector E.

NOTICE:
Do not forcibly insert the service wire into the terminals of the connector when connecting the wire.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- CHECK FRONT DOOR WIRE RH (OPEN)
OK -- Continue to next step.

35. CHECK SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY RH CIRCUIT (SHORT)

(a) Disconnect the service wire from connector E.









(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- CHECK FRONT DOOR WIRE RH (SHORT)
OK -- Continue to next step.

36. CHECK SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY RH CIRCUIT (SHORT TO B+)

(a) Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.









(b) Turn the ignition switch to ON.

(c) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage:





(d) Turn the ignition switch off.

(e) Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

NG -- CHECK FRONT DOOR WIRE RH (SHORT TO B+)
OK -- Continue to next step.
