DOOR LOCK: TRANSMITTER BATTERY: REPLACEMENT; 2013 MY FR-S [03/2012 -]

NOTICE:
Take extra care when handling these precision electronic components.

1. REMOVE TRANSMITTER HOUSING COVER Removal

2. REMOVE DOOR CONTROL TRANSMITTER MODULE SET SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

3. REMOVE TRANSMITTER BATTERY

(a) Disengage the hook and remove the transmitter battery cover.





(b) Remove the transmitter battery (lithium battery: CR2016).





NOTICE:
* Do not push the terminals with your finger.
* Do not use excessive force when prying up the battery (lithium battery: CR2016) as this may damage the terminals.
* Do not touch the battery with wet hands. Water may cause it to rust.
* Do not touch or move any components inside the transmitter as this may interfere with its proper operation.
* When replacing the transmitter battery, before starting work, remove static electricity that has built up in the body by touching, for example, the vehicle to prevent the door control transmitter from being damaged.

HINT
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

4. INSTALL TRANSMITTER BATTERY

(a) Install a battery (lithium battery: CR2016) with the positive (+) side up, as shown in the illustration.





NOTICE:
* Make sure that the positive (+) side and the negative (-) side of the transmitter battery are correctly matched with the transmitter terminals.
* Do not bend the transmitter battery electrode during insertion.
* Keep the transmitter cover interior free of dust and oil.
* When replacing the transmitter battery, before starting work, remove static electricity that has built up in the body by touching, for example, the vehicle to prevent the door control transmitter from being damaged.

(b) Engage the hook and install the transmitter battery cover.





NOTICE:
Securely engage the claws of the cover to prevent the poor contact between the battery and terminal.
