DESCRIPTION
When the main body ECU (network gateway ECU) has received the ON signal from the luggage opening cancel switch assembly and the ON signal from the luggage door opening switch assembly, the main body ECU (network gateway ECU) activates the luggage compartment door lock motor.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
PROCEDURE
1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the ignition switch to ON.
(c) Turn the Techstream on.
(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Active Test.
(e) Perform the Active Test according to the display on the Techstream.
Main Body
OK:
Luggage compartment door lock motor operates.
NG -- INSPECT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR OPENER SYSTEM (LUGGAGE DOOR OPENING CANCEL SWITCH ASSEMBLY)
(a) When the luggage door opening cancel switch assembly is on, push the luggage door opening switch assembly and check that the luggage compartment door opens.
OK:
Luggage compartment door opener system operates normally.
(b) When the luggage door opening cancel switch assembly is off, push the luggage door opening switch assembly and check that the luggage compartment door does not open.
OK:
Luggage compartment door opener system does not operate.
NG -- READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM
OK -- END
3. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the ignition switch to ON.
(c) Turn the Techstream on.
(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.
(e) Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

OK:
On the Techstream screen, each item changes between ON and OFF according to the above.

4. INSPECT LUGGAGE DOOR OPENING CANCEL SWITCH ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the luggage door opening cancel switch assembly Removal.
(b) Inspect the luggage door opening cancel switch assembly Luggage Compartment Door Opener Main Switch.
NG -- REPLACE LUGGAGE DOOR OPENING CANCEL SWITCH ASSEMBLY Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.
5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (LUGGAGE DOOR OPENING CANCEL SWITCH ASSEMBLY - MAIN BODY ECU (NETWORK GATEWAY ECU))
(a) Disconnect the D5 main body ECU (network gateway ECU) connector and the H7 luggage door opening cancel switch assembly.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance (Check for Open):
Standard Resistance (Check for Short):
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (NETWORK GATEWAY ECU) Removal
6. INSPECT LUGGAGE DOOR OPENING SWITCH ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the luggage door opening switch assembly Removal.
(b) Inspect the luggage door opening switch assembly Luggage Compartment Door Opener Inner Switch.
B -- REPLACE LUGGAGE DOOR OPENING SWITCH ASSEMBLY Removal
A -- Continue to next step.
7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (LUGGAGE DOOR OPENING SWITCH ASSEMBLY - MAIN BODY ECU (NETWORK GATEWAY ECU))
(a) Disconnect the D6 main body ECU (network gateway ECU) connector and the D4 luggage door opening switch assembly.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance (Check for Open):
Standard Resistance (Check for Short):
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (NETWORK GATEWAY ECU) Removal
8. INSPECT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the luggage compartment door lock assembly Removal.
(b) Inspect the luggage compartment door lock assembly Luggage Compartment Door Lock.
NG -- REPLACE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.
9. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY - MAIN BODY ECU (NETWORK GATEWAY ECU))
(a) Disconnect the 3B instrument panel junction block assembly connector and the J3 luggage compartment door lock assembly.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance (Check for Open):
Standard Resistance (Check for Short):
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
10. REPLACE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY
(a) Temporarily replace the instrument panel junction block assembly with a new or normally functioning one Removal.
(b) Check the door closer operation.
OK:
Door closer operation normal.
NG -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (NETWORK GATEWAY ECU) Removal
OK -- END
