Removal

INTERIOR PANELS / TRIM: LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL: REMOVAL; 2013 MY FR-S [03/2012 -]

1. TABLE OF BOLT, SCREW AND NUT

(a) All bolts, screws and nuts relevant to installing and removing the instrument panel are shown along with an alphabetical code in the table.

2. PRECAUTION

NOTICE:
After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work Repair Instruction - Initialization.

3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL Removal

4. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY

5. REMOVE CENTER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Using a moulding remover, disengage the 2 claws and 4 clips to remove the center instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly.

6. REMOVE STEREO OPENING COVER WITH BRACKET

(a) Remove the 4 screws to remove the stereo opening cover with bracket.

7. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL GARNISH

(a) Remove the screw.

(b) Disengage the 6 claws to remove the No. 2 instrument cluster finish panel garnish.

8. REMOVE UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (for LH Side)

(a) Remove the screw.

(b) Disengage the 3 claws to remove the upper instrument panel finish panel sub-assembly.

9. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL GARNISH

Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

10. REMOVE UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (for RH Side)

Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

11. REMOVE AIR CONDITIONING CONTROL ASSEMBLY Removal

12. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL RH

(a) Using a moulding remover, disengage the claw and 4 clips and remove the instrument side panel RH.

13. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH

HINT
Use the same procedure as for the RH side.

14. REMOVE METER HOOD SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the screw.

(b) Disengage the 12 claws, and then pull out the meter hood sub-assembly diagonally upwards to remove it.

15. REMOVE UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL METER ORNAMENT

(a) Disengage the 6 claws and 2 clips.

(b) Disengage the 2 claws that are holding the upper instrument panel meter ornament and steering column cover together.

(c) Disconnect the connector and remove the upper instrument panel meter ornament.

16. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

17. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY

(a) Disengage the claw and release the glove compartment door damper.

(b) Release the 2 stoppers and open the glove compartment door assembly until it is horizontal.

(c) Pull the glove compartment door assembly horizontally backward to disengage the 2 hinges and remove the glove compartment door assembly.

NOTICE:
Be sure to pull the glove compartment door assembly horizontally to remove it.

18. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR DAMPER

(a) Disengage the claw and remove the glove compartment door damper.

19. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 7 screws.

(b) Remove the 2 screws and nut.
