Installation
HEATING / AIR CONDITIONING: AIR CONDITIONING UNIT: INSTALLATION; 2013 MY FR-S [03/2012 -]
1. INSTALL AIR CONDITIONING UNIT ASSEMBLY
(a) Install the 3 bolts and 3 nuts.
Torque : 7.5 Nm (77 kgf-cm, 66 in-lbf)
(b) Engage the drain cooler hose.
(c) Connect each connector and engage each clamp and install the air conditioning unit assembly.
2. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL REINFORCEMENT ASSEMBLY
(a) Using a 4 mm "TORX" wrench, install the 4 "TORX" Bolts in the order shown in the illustration.
Torque : 25 Nm (255 kgf-cm, 18 ft-lbf)
(b) Install the instrument panel reinforcement assembly with the 5 bolts in the order shown in the illustration.
Torque : 25 Nm (255 kgf-cm, 18 ft-lbf)
(c) Connect each connector and engage each clamp.
(d) Connect the 2 earth wires with the 2 bolts.

7. INSTALL STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY
Removal
8. INSTALL LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL REINFORCEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Install the lower instrument panel reinforcement sub-assembly with the 2 bolts.
Torque : 7.5 Nm (77 kgf-cm, 66 in-lbf)
9. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
Installation
10. CONNECT AIR CONDITIONER TUBE AND ACCESSORY ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the vinyl tape from the pipe.
(b) Sufficiently apply compressor oil to a new O-ring and fitting surface of the air conditioner tube and accessory assembly.
Compressor oil:
for HFC-134a (R134a)
ND-OIL 8 or equivalent
(c) Install the O-ring to the air conditioner tube and accessory assembly.
(d) Install the air conditioner tube and accessory assembly.
11. CONNECT SUCTION HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the vinyl tape from the pipe.
(b) Sufficiently apply compressor oil to a new O-ring and the fitting surface of the suction hose sub-assembly.
Compressor oil:
for HFC-134a (R134a)
ND-OIL 8 or equivalent
(c) Connect the O-ring to the suction hose sub-assembly.
(d) Connect the suction hose sub-assembly.
(e) Rotate the hook connector in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration.
(f) Insert the pipe joint into the cooler expansion valve securely and tighten the bolt.
Torque : 7.5 Nm (77 kgf-cm, 66 in-lbf)
12. CONNECT OUTLET HEATER WATER HOSE A
(a) Install the outlet heater water hose A and attach the clip.
HINT
Install the outlet heater water hose A while aligning it with the matching marks made when it was removed.
13. CONNECT INLET HEATER WATER HOSE A
(a) Install the inlet heater water hose A and attach the clip.

Install the inlet heater water hose A while aligning it with the matching marks made when it was removed.
14. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
Torque : 6.0 Nm (61 kgf-cm, 53 in-lbf)
15. ADD ENGINE COOLANT Service and Repair
16. CHARGE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM WITH REFRIGERANT

17. INSPECT FOR COOLANT LEAK Testing and Inspection
18. WARM UP ENGINE
Service and Repair
19. INSPECT FOR REFRIGERANT LEAK
Service and Repair
20. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
SRS Warning Light Remains On
