How to Proceed With Troubleshooting

(a) Confirm problem symptoms .

3. INSPECT BATTERY VOLTAGE*

(a) Measure the voltage of the battery.

Standard voltage:

11 to 14 V

If the voltage is below 11 V, recharge or replace the battery before proceeding to the next step.

(b) Using the Techstream, inspect battery voltage reduction history "Battery Voltage Lo Record" in the Data List Data List / Active Test.

4. CHECK DTC AND FREEZE FRAME DATA*

(a) Check and record DTCs and freeze frame data.

* If communication to the power steering ECU cannot be established through the Techstream, inspect terminals CANH and CANL of the DLC3 and power steering ECU, and the IG circuit of the power steering ECU.
