APPLICABILITY: ALL AIR CONDITIONED 1985 VEHICLES
SUBJECT: AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM OIL RECOMMENDATIONS
Please be advised that the 1985 Panasonic A/C system uses a different type of oil than the 1985 Hitachi and Lone Star systems and must not be mixed or interchanged when servicing these systems.
PANASONIC A/C SYSTEM: Uses 130 cc of ATMOS S150
HITACHI A/C SYSTEM: Uses 150 cc of SUNISO 5GS
LONE STAR A/C SYSTEM: Uses 150 cc of SUNISO 5GS
Use of non-recommended oils will cause a decrease in cooling performance as well as a possible adverse effect on durability.
The use of non-recommended oil in the Panasonic A/C system may also cause vane noise.
These oils can be purchased through the Domestic Purchasing section of the Parts Department under the following part numbers:
