Air Bag Systems: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect ground cable from battery.
2. Turn ignition switch Off, then wait for at least 10 minutes before starting work.
3. Remove lower cover and lower cover panel, then disconnect airbag connectors AB3 and AB8 below steering column. Do not reconnect airbag connectors at steering column until main harness is securely reinstalled.
4. Remove front console box.
5. Disconnect 12 pin yellow connector from airbag control unit, then the bulk harness connector B140 from connector AB1.
6. Roll up floor mat and lefthand side sill cover.
7. Remove main harness from clip and protector.
8. Reverse procedure to install.
