SVX Trouble Code 12

When performing a "D" check on an SVX, a possibility exists on some vehicles for a phantom trouble code 12, starter switch, to appear during "D" check. This code may not be eliminated following a clear memory procedure especially when not using the select monitor. This phenomenon may occur on some vehicles utilizing ECU P/Ns 22611AA680 with yellow dot or 22611AA681 only. Vehicles utilizing ECU P/N 22611AA682 have modified logic to guard against this condition. This is the only difference between the three different P/Ns. Service Manual corrections will note revised "D" check and clear memory procedures. Contact the Technical Helpline should you need further assistance. This phantom trouble code does not affect the unit or vehicle operation. DO NOT replace the ECU for this condition.
