Engine Control Module: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Disarm the air bag system.
a. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
b. Disconnect the positive battery cable.
c. Wait ten (10) minutes before proceding.
2. Remove the drivers knee bolster.
3. Remove the ECU fasteners.
4. Lower the ECU and disconnect the harness.

INSTALLATION
1. Connect the ECU to the harness.
2. Raise the ECU into place and secure the fasteners.
3. Install the drivers knee bolster.
4. Connect the positive battery cable.

WARNING: Assure that there is no one inside the vehicle or near the air bag deployment module.

5. Connect the negative battery cable.
