TCS Off Switch Does Not Function





OVERVIEW
Traction Control System (TCS) OFF indicator light comes on and goes off properly when starting the engine, while this light neither comes on nor goes off when pushing the TCS OFF switch.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
2. Disconnect connector from TCS OFF switch.





3. Measure resistance between TCS OFF switch connector (i9) terminals 5 and 3.
^ When switch is pressed (turns ON): 0 ohms
^ When switch is released (turns OFF): 1 M ohm
4. Check harness connector between ABS/ TCS control module and TCS OFF switch as follows:
a) Turn ignition switch OFF.
b) Disconnect connector to TCS OFF switch.
c) Disconnect connector from ABS/TCS control module.





d) Measure resistance between ABS/TCS control module connector (P7) terminal 16 and body.
^ When switch is pressed (turns ON): 0 ohms
^ When switch is released (turns OFF): 1 M ohm
