MIL ON, DTC P0705 (Transmission Control Unit) Set

OBD II Code P0705
Should you encounter a vehicle with a "Check Engine Light" indicator illuminated, and Code "P0705" stored in the Emission Control Unit (ECU), please perform the following procedure:
1. Confirm that all inhibitor switch circuit connections are secure.
2. Confirm that all inhibitor switch circuit connections are clean and free of moisture.
3. Insure that the inhibitor switch and shifter cable are properly adjusted.
If the above diagnostic procedures do not indicate any wiring or connection problems, the condition could be caused by an internal Transmission Control Unit (TCU) concern.
Should replacement be necessary, please use the chart as shown to order the correct control unit.
As always, you should have your parts department check for any supersessions prior to ordering and confirm the repair prior to returning the vehicle to the customer.
