TITLE: Fuse 5 Blows

SERVICE TIP:

If you encounter a 2000MY Legacy that is blowing fuse #5, make sure you inspect the INSIDE of the bulb socket for a possible grounded terminal end.

The Subaru Service Department has received 2 complaints of this condition, and on both vehicles, it has been the right rear tail lamp assembly.

Apparently, a wire terminal end INSIDE the bulb socket had protruded outward and was touching the metal side of the bulb socket so that each time the tail lights were turned on, the #5 fuse would blow.
