TITLE: HVAC, Audio Unit Inoperative After Wiring Harness Change

SERVICE TIP:

When performing repairs on a 2005 Legacy or Outback that involve repair or replacement of the bulkhead wiring harness, HVAC controls or faceplate, audio unit and/or similar components, be sure to pay particular attention to the configuration of all connectors. It might be a good idea to mark or identify them before removal to help minimize the possibility of re-connecting them improperly. There are several sets of connectors that are the same shape, configuration and color that will interchange with one another. There have been several calls received by the Techline for components that did not operate after replacement or repair due to these connectors not being re-connected properly.
