Evaporator Core: Service and Repair

Evaporator

REMOVAL

1. Disconnect the ground cable from battery.
2. Using the refrigerant recovery system, drain the refrigerant.
3. Remove the bolt and detach the pipe from expansion valve.






4. Remove the instrument panel lower.
5. Remove the two screws and remove the evaporator pipe cover.






6. Remove the two bolts and remove the evaporator pipe.






7. Remove the two screws and remove the evaporator cover.






8. Remove the evaporator.

CAUTION: If the evaporator is replaced, add an appropriate amount of compressor oil to evaporator.






INSTALLATION

CAUTION:
- Make sure that the water stop gasket of the cover attachment area is securely attached.
- Install the sensor at the position shown in the figure below.







1. Install in the reverse order of removal.
2. Fill engine coolant.
3. Charge refrigerant.
