Variable Valve Timing Solenoid: Service and Repair

Oil Control Solenoid

REMOVAL

1. INTAKE SIDE
1. Disconnect the ground cable from battery.






2. Remove the air intake duct. (RH side only)
3. Remove the reservoir tank. (LH side only)
4. Disconnect the connector (A) from the oil control solenoid, and remove the oil control solenoid from the chain cover.

2. EXHAUST SIDE
1. Disconnect the ground cable from battery.






2. Remove the air intake duct. (RH side only)
3. Remove the reservoir tank. (LH side only)
4. Disconnect the connector (A) from the oil control solenoid, and remove the oil control solenoid from the chain cover.

INSTALLATION
Install in the reverse order of removal.

NOTE: Use new O-rings.

Tightening torque: 6.4 N.m (0.7 kgf-m, 4.7 ft-lb)
