Engine Temperature Sensor: Service and Repair

WARNING: To help avoid danger of being burned, do not remove radiator cap while engine and radiator are still hot. Scalding fluid and steam can be blown out under pressure if cap is taken off too soon.

REMOVAL
- Disconnect battery negative cable at battery.
- Remove air cleaner assembly.
- Remove radiator cap to relieve engine cooling water pressure and install it.
- Disconnect coupler from WTS.
- Remove WTS and gasket from throttle body.

INSTALLATION
- Reverse removal procedure noting the following.

^ Clean mating surfaces of WTS and throttle body.
^ Check gasket for damage and replace if necessary.
^ Tighten WTS to specified torque.


TIGHTENING TORQUE
20 - 30 N-m (2.0 - 3.0 kg-m, 14.5 - 21.5 lb-ft)

- Connect coupler to WTS securely.
- Be sure to check that no cooling water leakage exists after installation.
