Camshaft Position Sensor: Testing and Inspection

Connecting Voltmeter:

- With ignition switch OFF, disconnect ECM connector (Yellow).

- Connect voltmeter between "B1" terminal of green connector (connected) and "A13" terminal of yellow connector (disconnected).

- Remove distributor cap, rotor and shield cover.

NOTE: Check to make sure that magnet is free from any metal particles.

Magnetic Flux Conditions For Voltage Check:

- Check voltage with signal rotor inserted between hall element and magnet ("A") and without it ("B") respectively.

"A" = Battery voltage
"B" = Zero (0) volts

- If check result is not satisfactory, repair wire harness or replace CAS.
- After checking, connect ECM coupler securely install distributor cap.
