EGR Control Solenoid: Testing and Inspection

- With ignition switch OFF, disconnect connector from VSV.

Checking EGR VSV Resistance:





- Check resistance between two terminals of VSV.

VSV RESISTANCE
33-39 ohms

- If resistance is as specified, proceed to next operation check. If not, replace.

- Disconnect vacuum hoses from EGR modulator and throttle body.

Checking EGR VSV Operation:





- Blow into hose "A". Air should come out of hose filter and not out of nozzle "B".

Checking EGR VSV Operation:





- Connect 12V-battery to VSV terminals. In this state, blow hose "A".

- Air should come out of nozzle "B" and not out of filter.

- If check result is not as described above, replace VSV.

- Connect VSV connector securely.

- Connect vacuum hoses securely.
