Heater Core: Service and Repair
HEATER CORE1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Drain radiator into appropriate container and disconnect water hoses from heater core.
3. Disconnect all wires and cables from heater and blower units.
4. Remove steering wheel and steering column as outlined under Ignition Switch.
5. Disconnect speedometer cable, then remove speedometer assembly.
6. Remove both front speaker garnishes and center cover.
7. Remove instrument panel member mounting bolts.
8. Remove instrument panel and panel member as an assembly.

9. Remove heater unit, Fig. 8.
10. Remove heater unit clips and screws, then separate heater unit.
11. Remove heater core from heater unit.
12. Reverse procedure to install.
