SAFETY RECALL CAMPAIGN: X4, FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR & VACUUM UNION REPLACEMENT

1999-2001

CONDITION:
Under extremely cold ambient temperature conditions, fuel system pressure may increase at the time of engine start up, resulting in fuel leakage at the fuel pipe/fuel hose connection. Fuel loss in the presence of an ignition source could result in a fire.

CAUSE:
Moisture freezing inside the fuel pressure regulator.

CORRECTION:
Replace the fuel pressure regulator and fuel pressure regulator vacuum hose union on all affected vehicles at no cost to the owners.

AFFECTED VINs:
All 1999 and 2000 Grand Vitara vehicles.

2001 Grand Vitara vehicles within the following VIN range.

- J53TD62V414150010 ~ JS3TD62VX14152411 (4WD Models)
- JS3TE62V514150014 ~ JS3TE62V414150068 (2WD Models)
