Power Steering Pressure Signal: Description and Operation




Power Steering Pressure Signal (For Vehicle with Power Steering System)
This signal is sent from the power steering pressure switch. The power steering pressure switch is installed on the power steering pump body.

The switch turns ON when the oil pressure is higher than 2000 - 2700 kPa (20 - 27 kg/sq.cm, 285 - 384 psi).

The turning of the steering wheel causes oil pressure to increase. ECM (PCM) uses it for controlling IAC valve.
