SDM InspectionReference: SDM Removal and Installation:Except Advanced Air Bag
WARNING: During service procedures, be very careful when handling a Sensing and Diagnostic Module (SDM).
Be sure to read Precautions on Service and Diagnosis of Air Bag System:Except Advanced Air Bag before starting to work and observe every precaution during work. Neglecting them may result in personal injury or inactivation of the air bag system when necessary.
CAUTION:
- Do not connect a tester whatever type it may be.
- Never repair or disassemble SDM (3).
- If SDM has been dropped, or if there are cracks, dents or other defects in the case or plate, replace it with a new one.
1. Remove the SDM referring to SDM Removal and Installation:Except Advanced Air Bag.
2. Check SDM as follows.
If any faulty condition is found in the following checks, replace.
- Check SDM (1) for dents, cracks or deformation.
- Check SDM connector (2) for damage, cracks or lock mechanism.
- Check SDM terminal for bent, corrosion or rust.
