Water Pump Removal and InstallationRemoval
1. Disconnect negative (-) cable at battery.
2. Drain coolant.
3. Remove water pump and generator drive belt.
4. Remove front bumper.
5. Remove exhaust manifold.
6. Remove heater pipe (2) from water pump and cylinder block.
7. Remove thermostat.
8. Remove water pump (1) from cylinder block (3).
Installation
Reverse removal procedure for installation noting the following points.
^ Use new O-ring when installing.
^ Install water pump assembly to cylinder block and tighten bolts to specified torque.
Tightening torque
Water pump bolt: 25 Nm (2.5 kgf-m, 18.0 ft. lbs.)
^ Refill cooling system.
^ Verify that there is no coolant leakage at each connection.
