Tire Monitor Sysetm - Diagnostic Tips

Section Title: Control Systems

TSB No.: TS 02 11268

Division: Automotive

Category: Technical

SUBJECT:
TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM (TPMS) DIAGNOSTIC TIPS

MODEL(S):
ALL MODELS WITH TPMS

YEAR:
2005~

CONDITION:

The TPMS light as shown above may be ON or flashing.

CAUSE:

TPMS light "ON" - Tire pressure may have been adjusted with an inaccurate
gauge, or tire pressure could be low due to ambient temperature change.

TPMS light "Flashing" - Pressure sensors have not been activated at PDI or there is a fault with one or more sensors.

CORRECTION:

Follow the instructions shown in the service manual under "Diagnostic Information and Procedures". Use the essential Suzuki tool "TPG-0307-AKS" or equivalent high quality accurate gauge to measure the tire air pressure and adjust as required to the specified maximum pressure on the vehicle data plate. When possible use the Suzuki Diagnostic Tool (SDT), Tech 2 or equivalent to verify final tire pressures by viewing the data from each sensor rather than rely on the accuracy of a mechanical or electronic air gauge. Accuracy deviations within mechanical and electronic measurement devices could result in pressure readings which differ from what the BCM receives. By using the SDT or Tech 2 pressure readings you will observe the exact pressure as seen by the TPMS system for warning of pressure changes.
