Crankshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair

Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor Removal and Installation

NOTE: For identification of each cylinder and bank, refer to Precaution for Identification of Cylinder and Bank:N32A.

Removal
1. Disconnect negative cable from battery.
2. Remove exhaust manifold.
3. Remove bank-1 side engine mounting and bracket.
4. Disconnect connector (2) from CKP sensor (1) as follows.
a. Pull out lock lever (3) in arrow direction.
b. Disconnect connector from CKP sensor while pushing lock button (4).






5. Remove CKP sensor (1) from cylinder block.

Installation
Reverse removal procedure noting the following.
- Apply engine oil to O-ring of sensor.
- Tighten CKP sensor bolt to specified torque.

Tightening torque
CKP sensor bolt: 10 N.m (1.0 kg-m, 7.5 lbf-ft)






- Connect connector and fix wire harness with clamp securely.
