Removal and Replacement

Generator Removal and Installation

Removal
1. Disconnect negative (-) cable from battery.
2. Remove engine cover.
3. Remove accessory drive belt.
4. Remove air cleaner assembly.
5. Disconnect "B" terminal wire (1) and connector (2) from generator (3).
6. Remove generator (3).
7. For N32A, remove generator bracket (4) if necessary.






Installation

N32A
Reverse removal procedure noting the following.
- If generator bracket was removed tighten generator bracket bolts in numerical order ("1" - "4") evenly and gradually.

Tightening torque
Generator bracket bolt* (c): 55 N.m (5.6 kg-m, 40.5 lbf-ft)

- Tighten generator bolts and "B" terminal wire nut to specified torques.
- Tighten generator bolts in numerical order ("5" - "7") evenly and gradually.

Tightening torque
Generator bolt* (b): 55 N.m (5.6 kg-m, 40.5 lbf-ft)

- Tighten "B" terminal nut to specified torque.

Tightening torque
"B" terminal nut (a): 11 N.m (1.1 kg-m, 8.5 lbf-ft)
