Trunk / Liftgate: Service and Repair

Trunk Lid Removal and Installation

Remove and install trunk lid referring to figure and noting the following points.
- Remove trunk lid trim and trunk lid hinge garnish.
- Remove trunk lid opener spring holder (2) "1". Remove right torsion bar by moving it in arrow directions in order of "2" to "6", and then remove left torsion bar in the same procedure (but symmetrically opposite). (To install the torsion bars, reverse removal procedure.)
- Remove partition trim and then remove trunk lid hinge bolts from vehicle body.
- Remove high mounted stop light if necessary.
- Apply grease to sliding parts of torsion bars and trunk lid opener spring holder.

- Adjust trunk lid latch striker position if necessary.
- Adjust trunk lid hinge stopper.
