DIFF LOCK Indicator Lamp Does Not Turn On with Differential Lock Switched On
SYMPTOM:
DIFF LOCK indicator lamp does not turn ON when turning differential lock mode switch to "ON" after engine start.
Diagnostic Procedure
1. CHECK DIFF LOCK INDICATOR LAMP
Confirm the DIFF LOCK indicator lamp proves out when ignition switch is turned ON.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES
GO TO 2.
NO
Refer to [DIFF LOCK Indicator Lamp Inoperative] Differential Lock Indicator Lamp Inoperative.
2. PERFORM DTC CHECK
Perform "DTC check". Refer to [SDT Function (Diff Lock)] Scan Tool Testing and Procedures.
Is any DTC detected by "DTC check"?
YES
Check the malfunctioning system. Refer to [DTC Index: Differential Lock Control Unit] DTC Index Differential Lock Control Unit.
NO
GO TO 3.
3. CHECK DIFFERENTIAL LOCK MODE SWITCH OPERATION
Check differential lock mode switch. Refer to [P1839 Position Switch On] P1839.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES
GO TO 4.
NO
Repair component, harness or connector.
4. CHECK DIFFERENTIAL LOCK CONTROL UNIT POWER SUPPLY AND GROUND CIRCUIT
Check differential lock control unit power supply and ground circuit. Refer to [P1833 Initial Start] P1833.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES
Replace the differential lock control unit. Refer to [Differential Lock Control Unit: Removal and Installation] Service and Repair.
NO
Repair harness or connector.
