CKP (Crankshaft Position) Sensor Removal and Installation

CKP (Crankshaft Position) Sensor On-Vehicle Inspection

Removal

1) Disconnect negative cable from battery.
2) Remove generator. Generator Removal and Installation
3) Disconnect connector from CKP sensor.
4) Remove CKP sensor (1) from cylinder block (2).

Installation

CKP (Crankshaft Position) Sensor Inspection

Reverse removal procedure noting the following.

- Apply engine oil to O-ring of sensor.

NOTE:
The CKP sensor bolt is pre-coated with adhesive.

If the bolt is reused, it may work loose. Be sure to replace the CKP sensor bolt with a new one it is loosened.

- Tighten CKP sensor bolt to specified torque.

Tightening torque
CKP sensor bolt 11 Nm (1.1 kgf-m, 8.5 lbf-ft)









- Connect connector and fix wire harness with clamp securely.
